Dual Stage Regulators
Dual stage regulators are actually two regulators in one body. The first stage is non-adjustable and reduces the inlet pressure to an intermediate setting (typically 250-350 psig). The second stage is adjustable and reduces the intermediate pressure to the final delivery pressure. Because the second stage sees only relatively minor inlet pressure changes, dual stage regulators maintain steady delivery pressures and do not require periodic adjustment. Dual stage regulators are recommended for applications such as gas supply to analytical instruments, where constant delivery pressure is critical.
