For all practical purposes, MATHESON invented the Specialty Gas Business over 95 years ago in North Bergen, NJ. You can read about our historical milestones on the website, but let's fast-forward to 1988, when we centralized all of the Specialty Gas Equipment operations into the Equipment Technology Center located in Montgomeryville, PA.

PRODUCTS. The Center is uniquely specialized to meet the ever evolving needs of our customers. Housed in a state of the art facility, the Center designs and manufactures a variety of products including regulators, source manifolds and panels, switchover panels, gas cabinets, rotameters, mass flow meters and controllers, gas blenders, gas generators, gas detection and safety equipment, valves, purge assemblies, gauges, cylinder scales, flashback arrestors, hoses, filters, purifiers, cylinder racks, cylinder handling equipment and other auxiliary gas equipment.  

CORE COMPETENCIES. The 45,000 square foot ISO 9000 certified facility includes the following capabilities: 2D and 3D CAD modeling, electro-mechanical assembly, functional testing, ISO 5 (class 100) cleanrooms, NIST traceable flow calibrations, gas detection calibrations, tube fabrication, orbital TIG welding, oxygen cleaning and DI washing, glass forming and machining, glass annealing, silk screening, high pressure proof testing, inboard and outboard Helium mass spectrometer leak testing.

CUSTOM SOLUTIONS. From the source cylinder to the point of use, MATHESON offers application guidance and custom designed equipment solutions. Our design group works directly with customers to select and integrate the correct equipment. We can provide complete turnkey solutions or custom components. Our team is experienced and savvy in the delivery of customer requirements for gas purity, gas compatibility, reliability, and safety - in a wide variety of applications.
